ENERGY

Department of Energy Engineering

KENTECH's focus on energy research and education is aimed at developing climate technologies to address the climate crisis and nurturing talents capable of tackling climate change. Due to climate change, humanity faces an unprecedented challenge where almost every industry must undergo rapid transformation within a short span of time. Therefore, in this era of climate crisis, graduate schools must establish innovative education programs, research systems, and cultures that align with these demands.

Our energy education programs are built upon comprehensiveness and interconnectivity. A true interdisciplinary talent possesses expertise in specific fields while also having the ability to adapt and expand into various other areas. KENTECH has carefully designed education programs in core climate technology domains, enabling learning, discussions, and hands-on experiences that encompass all of these aspects. To achieve this, we offer five education tracks, four concentrations, international exchanges, and industry-linked practical training.

KENTECH's research distinguishes itself through active exchange activities, a culture of open dialogue, and a collaborative research framework with other research institutions. Genuine interdisciplinary research involves creative problem-solving throughout the entire process, from identifying research topics to formulating research strategies and engaging in feedback-driven collaborative research activities. To achieve this, we have established a collaborative research system that maximizes synergy and efficiency, featuring horizontal relationships among professors, researchers, and students, a culture of civil open debate, operation of interdisciplinary research facilities, support for research meetings, interdisciplinary major research, collaboration with prestigious overseas institutions, and cooperation with domestic industry-academia partnerships.

The climate crisis has already ushered in new energy markets and industries led by governments and the international community. In line with this, our interdisciplinary education and collaborative research culture have already become global standards, and now it is time to establish our presence domestically. As a newly established graduate school, we invite you to participate in this innovative graduate program, where you can experience genuine growth unlike any other in the country and become a key player in addressing the global climate crisis.
