KENTECH and HD KSOE Jointly Unveil 'Offshore Floating Green Hydrogen Production Platform' at Gastech 2022

KENTECH and Professor Hwang Jihyun's Research Team, in collaboration with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., unveiled the concept of a '100MW-scale Offshore Floating Green Hydrogen Production Platform' at Gastech 2022 on September 7th. This platform features a pioneering production facility designed to produce green hydrogen on the decks of ships, incorporating polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzers and hydrogen liquefaction modules. It not only stores liquefied hydrogen on board but also offers options for the utilization of e-fuels such as methanol and ammonia, making it a versatile hydrogen supply solution for the approaching hydrogen era. Both organizations are committed to enhancing collaboration with specialized European companies in electrolysis and liquefied hydrogen. Their goal is to finalize detailed design plans by 2023, heralding an innovative approach in the field of hydrogen production and supply.
